‘Take UFO sightings more seriously,’ US politician warns
Calls have been made for US authorities to wake up and take UFOs seriously.
Top US politicians are demanding that defense chiefs around the world do more than just record sightings and actively tackle unidentified flying machines.
It comes after British UFO investigator Nick Pope said 2022 would be an “earthquake year for UFOs”.
Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett accused the Pentagon of hiding information from Congress.
He said: ‘I don’t trust the Ministry of Defense to get it right because the leadership there has always been part of a cover-up.
“It is clear from the public evidence that we do not have full control of our airspace.
“It’s a matter of national security and it’s also unacceptable.”
It comes four months after politicians passed a bill requiring the Pentagon to create the Office of Oversight and Anomaly Resolution.
The unit, which is expected to be fully operational by next month, has been given authority to pursue ‘any resource, capability, asset or process’ to investigate ‘unidentified aerial phenomena’ – the now widely accepted name for UFOs.
The legislation, signed into law by US President Joe Biden, called for an “intelligence gathering and analysis plan to gain as much knowledge as possible about the technical and operational characteristics, origins and intentions of unidentified aerial phenomena”.
Mr Pope recently said: “I am convinced that 2022 will be an earthquake year for UFOs.
“I think we will see congressional hearings on UFOs.
“I also think we will see the release of more US military photos and videos of UFOs, and related documents.
“Some of this information may come from whistleblowers, but much may be released by the government itself, either proactively or in response to requests under the Freedom of Information Act.
“Finally, I think we’ll see more high-caliber witnesses come forward, including commercial airline pilots, military crews, radar operators and intelligence officers with first-hand knowledge of this subject.”
According to one of his aides, Florida Senator Marco Rubio is unhappy with his government’s response to reports of aliens.
They said: “Rubio is definitely frustrated. They are not moving fast enough, not doing enough, not sharing enough.
“The administration is aware of the concerns. It’s not at the level it should be. »
A former senior intelligence official who had authority over classified documents detailing UFO sightings told Politico, “I’ve seen everything we have [in the files] and I am very confident that they are not ours.
The US government released a UFO report in June 2021. The Pentagon studied 144 incidents reported by military pilots between 2004 and 2021 while preparing the report.
Officials were able to explain one of the incidents – it was a balloon – but the rest remains a mystery.
Leonard David, author of Moon Rush: the New Space Race, said: “It’s a great time to be alive. The main thing is that something is coming.
“We have to start thinking that we are not alone. It’s: how crowded are there up there? »
