JOPLIN, Mo. — A candidate, running for the Missouri state senate, made a campaign stop in Joplin, today. Democratic candidate Trudy Busch Valentine was in Landreth Park this afternoon.
She and her team are traveling the state this weekend. They stopped today in Nevada, Lamar and Carthage before arriving in Joplin.
There are only a few weeks left before the Missouri general election.
Valentine focuses on topics such as women’s rights in health care, Missouri farmland, and higher education. Like many current candidates, she spends time speaking to communities large and small across the state to tell them about her plans.
“I can keep our democracy strong. And I have good leadership skills, but I also have compassion and integrity and I want to know the truth, I always want to tell the truth. I want to be transparent in everything I do, so the people of Missouri know what I do, who I meet with every day,” said Missouri State Senate candidate Trudy Busch Valentine, (D) .
Valentine will face Republican candidate Eric Schmitt in the Missouri general election on November 8.
